Who Experiences Depression?


Depression affects anyone, no matter what old age, lifestyle, family history or simply a gender. The causes are wide ranging and are triggered by a few factors or events plus a person's life. Sometimes it has no cause or trigger. As it can affect anyone, the effect on some people or demographics may vary. Research in to complication of Depression sufferers found that:

Women:



  • Women are twice as likely to suffer from Depression as men;


  • Women may be at and the higher chances of suffering Depression partly due to hormonal changes brought on by puberty, menstruation, menopausal, and Pregnancy


  • Women are twice as likely to suffer from anxiety or phobias than men and when the anxiety resides alongside Depression, treatment can be much more complicated

Men:
